Our Projects
Harlaxton

This is the garden of some of our regular maintenance customers. They wanted to extend the size of the lawn, create a play area for the children and most importantly create stunning flower beds with colour all year around.

First we started by clearing all of the existing undesirable shrubbery. Then we began to build the layers with sleepers and laid in the turf. We chose planting that was not only beautiful but could take some disruption from children and the dog. We incorporated diagonal hedges to break up the length and then plenty of different grasses to create a lot of movement within the pops of colour created by the flowers.

Finally we built a slat fence from scratch to separate the play area, laid membrane and special play area bark and put climbers to disguise it over time.
Redmile
A customer had decided to add a new flower bed into his garden and asked me to provide planting ideas, for a multi-coloured, bee and butterfly friendly area with all year round colour.

We used a beautiful Sorbus for height and then added a huge mixture of plants from Lavender to Kniphopfia, Eupatorium to Iris.

We returned to see the garden 3 months after planting to carry out some maintenance and the difference was vast. The customer had implemented his own irrigation system and everything had done incredibly well. We will continue to look after not only this bed, but the rest of the garden and we have plans to develop more areas to improve them for the future.

We were called in to overhaul and maintain this garden as it had been a little neglected for a few years. The laurels at the front of the house were enormous so we discussed cutting them right back and adding some new plants which would increase interest and improve the habitat for insects.

Following many days work and 14 tonne sacks full of prunings, we finally had the bed clear to plant.

As the soil is incredibly dry under the huge conifers and pine tree, we chose plants which could survive the conditions including a selection of Rhododendrons (my client's personal favourite), Cistus, Sedum and Caryopteris. As you will see from the picture from 4 months post planting, the growth has been brilliant and over Autumn we are going to add some horse manure and acid feed to improve the soil and feed the plants ready for next year's blooms.
